Getting around the Sunshine Coast
The Sunshine Coast is an easy adventure if you have a ‘Go Card’. The ‘Go Card’ is available at hundreds of locations across South East Queensland on the Sunshine Coast you can buy one in Maroochydore at a few locations and at any 7-Eleven. If you’re an organised sort you may want to hop online and get one before you head on your Coolum holiday. The Sunshine Coast buses also accept cash payment but this will add an additional cost to your trip. So, with a bit of change or your trusty Go Card ready, where will it be?
Head South to Maroochydore and Mooloolaba
With its long stretch of coastline connected to parks, shops, restaurants and attractions the Maroochydore to Mooloolaba area of the Sunshine Coast has something for everyone.
Maroochydore is one of the best shopping precincts on the Sunshine Coast. The Sunshine Plaza is a great place to get some serious retail and fashion shopping done plus catch the latest movie and grab a tasty meal. If you’re after something more localised and unique try the newly refurbished Big Top and Ocean Street. With regular markets, both indoor and outdoor, the Ocean Street precinct is must do Sunshine Coast experience.

If you keep heading south you'll discover Mooloolaba. Mooloolaba is a bustling beachside town where the busy esplanade transitions into one of Australia's most popular beaches. Offering plenty of retail options, cafes, restaurants and more, Mooloolaba is worth a day trip when staying at Coolum at the Beach.

Head North to Peregian Beach, Noosa and more
A relaxing bus trip will get you all the way to Noosa Heads within 35 minutes and you'll be able to stop at any of the northern Sunshine Coast beaches along the way.
Just north of Coolum Beach is Peregian Beach. An upcoming beachside metropolis. Peregian Beach Village offers visitors a relaxing half-day out, filled with expansive white sandy beaches and great food. One of the best markets are held on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month.
Allow up to 15 minutes to get to Peregian.
The infamous Noosa awaits visitors to Coolum with an easy bus trip north. Noosa has become renown for blending a thriving coastal town seamlessly with its natural surrounds. Head to Noosa for the latest fashion, fantastic dining and of course, the stunning Noosa National Park.
Visiting the Noosa area, shopping and dining on Hasting Street and exploring the National Park makes for a fantastic but very full day out, so you may wish to catch one of the earlier buses.

Unlock the entire Sunshine Coast (travel time varies)
If you’ve got time and don’t mind a bus ride, the whole of Sunshine Coast is at the doorstep of your Coolum at the Beach accommodation. The North route can take you all the way to the Eumundi Markets and beyond. While the South route can take you all the way to Caloundra and the beautiful Pumicestone Passage.
